It was reported on Saturday that Turner Gill would interview for the Kansas coaching vacancy on Sunday. While that likely didn’t happen, the interest on the part of the Jayhawks in the former Nebraska quarterback is still very much real.
According to the Kansas City Star, athletic director Lew Perkins phoned Buffalo officials on Friday expressing interest in speaking to their head coach.
An interview is expected to take place in New York early this week as Perkins will be in New York City for a football awards luncheon.
No one from either Buffalo or Kansas have confirmed anything other than the Jayhawks interest in Gill.
