Well, this certainly qualifies as a strange development.
According to both an Arkansas radio station and the Kansas City Star, Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt is on Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins’ wish list as a replacement for Mark Mangino.
But, that’s not all. Nutt is reportedly reciprocating the Jayhawks’ interest. And Perkins and the coach have already discussed the opening.
As Florio is wont to say, wow.
Nutt has been at Ole Miss for two seasons after spending ten at Arkansas.
The 52-year-old coach was a quarterback at Oklahoma State from 1979 through 1981. He was also a Cowboys assistant on two occasions in the 1980’s.
