Strong, 'Ville still immersed in talks

Although it was reported Charlie Strong could be offered the Louisville job as early as Sunday, as of this evening no offer has been made to the Florida defensive coordinator.

Cardinals athletic director Tom Jurich told the Louisville Courier-Journal that the two spent a good amount of time talking yesterday, but did not have anything as far as an update is concerned.

I don’t really have a status update, it’s on-going,” Jurich said. “I tell you what though, he’s very impressive, a very impressive guy, he’d be great for our community.”

Strong and Jurich have spent time on the phone today, and are expected to resume talks on Tuesday.

Barring a surprising turn of events, however, it’s widely expected that Strong will be named as the Cardinals’ new coach at some point this week.
