Brewster has 'no interest' in Kansas opening

As noted yesterday, there have been reports percolating just below the surface that Tim Brewster may have an interest in the Kansas job, and vice versa.

Even Brewster’s own athletic director, Joel Maturi, has heard the rumors about the Minnesota head coach, but had no clue as to their validity.

“There are rumors that he’s going to Kansas, so I don’t know,” Maturi said. “What can I say? So I can’t guarantee it, no. I can’t guarantee the decisions of other people.”

“I’m smart enough to know that (Brewster’s) not going to tell me; nor is the athletic director (Lew Perkins) at Kansas going to tell me until it’s a done deal.”

Perhaps in an effort to appease his current boss, who was somewhat vague about his coach’s future with the Gophers in mid-November, Brewster went on the offensive today and attempted to quash any Jayhawk fires that are out there burning.

By way of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Brewster said he’s not interested the Kansas job or any other position for that matter.

I have not spoken with anybody,” Brewster said. “I have no interest in any other job besides the University of Minnesota.”

Brewster also texted Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.com‘s Big Ten blog, stating that he is not a candidate for the Kansas vacancy.

He would not have been a good choice at Kansas.

ok this story i just flat out do not believe. i live in minneapolis and have before brewster even got here. NO ONE likes this guy, why well because he sucks. He was brought in to coach the Gophers because he was an excellent recruiter, the local papers are always saying “if he is so good at recruiting why are the Gophers not winning(in a brand new 200 million dollar stadium) and where are these prize recruits. The Gophers have had neither since brewster has been in Minneapolis and nothing I’ve seen has led me to believe things will be different anytime soon. So point being, if this guy cannot even win in the big 10 how the hell is supposed to in the big 12 and who at kansas wants this guy and for what reason?

Brewster blows sunshine up Gopher fans’ asses on a regular basis. If Kansas wants him, PLEASE take him. But beware, he might blame the local radio station for driving away recruits when things get negative.

No comment on this story. Just wanted to compliment you guys on your coverage of the NCAA investigation into Tennessee’s recruiting.
Well done. Not really worth stopping by the site for 4 or 5 posts a day.
