Apparently, fans and curious onlookers aren’t the only ones growing weary of the “Will he? Won’t he?” situation surrounding Brian Kelly and his interest in Notre Dame.
At least one of Kelly’s players has publicly told the coach to, basically, spit or get off the pot. All-American wide receiver Mardy Gilyard was interviewed this afternoon, and stated that he and his teammates are tired of all the speculation surrounding their head coach.
“Just make the decision fast, bro, so we can get it out of the way,” Gilyard said according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. “You know what you’re going to do. Just do it. We’re tired of worrying about it.”
Needless to say, Gilyard is speaking to the choir.
In other news involving Kelly — and yet another hint that something could be going down soon with the Notre Dame opening — the Enquirer is also reporting that UC is barring the media from attending the Bearcats’ award banquet tonight.
The media will be permitted to interview players for an hour before the banquet, but will not have access to the actual banquet itself.
Excellent reporting Taylor. I’m glad the media can’t attend the UK banquet tonight…what about the Bearcat banquet?
uhhh….. Bearcats
Come on, Univ of Cincinnati finished 3rd in the BCS, as national media attention because of their coach and is playing in the Sugar Bowl and you still can’t get their mascot right? It’s the BEARcats not the Wildcats.
Bearcats…not Wildcats. No UC fan wants to be confused with that neighbor to the south…
BEARcats
You do know that UC is the Bearcats, not the Wildcats correct? Come on now. And Kelly has scheduled a team meeting 1 hour before the banquet. That’s where they’ll hear the news that he’s leaving.
taking the notre dame job and placing any trust at all in swarbrick and jenkins would be the biggest mistake of kelly’s life. but he still might do it.

Not a big deal, but it is the Bearcats, not the Wildcats.
@ all: Got it fixed. Wasn’t intentional, and didn’t mean to offend Cincy Nation. Hey, at least I didn’t call them the “Buckeyes”…
