This past Monday, word began to circulate that Jim Harbaugh had met or would be meeting with Notre Dame officials about their vacancy.
Harbaugh's athletic director vehemently denied the reports. The Stanford coach himself shrugged off the rumors before the Monday night NFL game.
"There's no meeting. I haven't talked to anybody from Notre Dame. I haven't talked to anybody from Notre Dame about a meeting," Harbaugh.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, however, that's not the case.
Multiple sources told the Sun-Times that Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh met Monday in Chicago with reps from the Atlanta-based Parker group to discuss the ND job.Harbaugh was in Green Bay, Wis., on Monday night to watch brother John coach the Baltimore Ravens in a loss to the Packers. Harbaugh refuted a report in the New York Times that he was scheduled to meet with Irish athletic director Jack Swarbrick, who was in New York at the time.
Harbaugh is currently in the midst of talks with Stanford regarding a contract extension, and having his name attached to an opening such as Notre Dame would certainly increase his bargaining power with the Cardinal.
I don't believe a word of this!
Harbaugh was in NYC on Tuesday night. He spoke to IU at halftime of their game with Pitt. He is Tom Crean's brother in law. They showed him on ESPN, he probably spoke to ND that night

Who freakin cares about Notre Lame anymore... a dead program that has no future, only a past. Yawn
They will sign the guy from Cinncinatti, correction U-Conn, ah froget that, Stanford guy has the inside track, unless of course ...........
Who is Notre Dame ?
Notre Dame is the dingleberry left after the rest of the NCAA teams take a sh*t.
Hey John I saw Urban Meyers talking with Jack Swarbrick in Smellterville Idaho I was sitting behind them and over heard the whole conversation. Urban is coming out after the Sugar Bowl to announce he will be taking the Notre Dame Position.
I thought that was Michigan?????
John:
Hope your 3 year old is doing better and and home with you and the rest of your family. That couldn't have been a lot of fun.
Looks like ND has some pretty good candidates lined up. Nothing is certain, but it appears they are doing a better job this time around courting candidates discreetly, and are targeting college head coaches with experience.
ND can get talent (i.e.: 2010 Draft). They have money and great facilities. Get a coach in there with success running a college program and a strong staff and ND will do quite well.
Go Irish!
hey Arizona Buckeye... apparently you care, if you are reading the articles. Everyone cares...

taylor, you and your associates should be aware that, although we will take all of your material possessions in the civil courts, we always make certain that innocent wives and children and parents and relatives are taken care of.
although each of you fully deserves to be treated in the same vicious manner in which you treat the targets of your fraudulent articles and their familes.
this code of ethics is called situational ethics, a field about which you and your associates know bupkis.
we really do wish your 3 year old and your wife and family the very best.
Hope your kid dies
Hope your kid dies
Stay classy, Jay.
Two things separate Notre Dame alums and fans from the rest of the universe's "sports fans":
1. We're never bored enough to waste a few hours looking for a blog to post an irrelevant comment to a story, usually containing misspelled words and/or a swear word with a creatively missing letter replaced with an asterisk.
2. You don't have all the national championships, all-Americans, academic all-Americans (all-time) and tied #1 for winning percentage and Heismanns (all-time) that ND has.
Just remember, your sheepskin or your sweatshirt emblem speaks volumes better than your postings. The Irish Nation only chuckles at your self-imposed annoyance to all Notre Dame.
PS Have your own tv network yet?
JJAY Come on now that was uncalled for. Leave the kids outta this. Hey John I have kids of my own I hope and pray they are doing better.
Harbaugh wouldn't go to notre dame, he is going to Michigan when richrod gets ran out.
