Bulls back arrested on driving charge

South Florida running back Mike Ford was arrested Thursday morning on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license, the St. Petersburg Times is reporting.

This is at least the fourth time, the paper reports, that Ford is facing the same charge.  There is no word on whether this arrest will play any role on his availability for the Bulls’ bowl game.

Ford was suspended for the first two games of the 2009 season for an unspecified violation of team rules.

The junior’s 243 yards were good for No. 3 on the Bulls this season.

ANOTHER one of those high character players that USF coach Jim Leavitt loves on his teams. I wonder if all of his drivers liscense suspension are for non-payment of child support like weveral of his his predesessors in the program?
Leavitt runs one of the best mediocre programs in the country, one that will never get over the top and contend for the national title as long as he is there keeping them down.
Jim needs to take his “win 1/2 your games” coaching philosophy to a program used to winning 2 or less games season after season – he’ll get them up to the 1/2 way mark of being a contender.

    Pier588,
Not that what you said about Leavitt isn’t correct, but I think you’re being a little tough on Mike Ford. Did you read the article?? Sounds like the keystone cops at USF were looking to flex a little muscle.
