Houston, you might have a problem

Now that Brian Kelly is officially out at Cincinnati, the Bearcats must now turn their attention to finding a replacement.

According to Yahoo!, that process has already begun as the Bearcats have asked for permission to speak to Houston head coach Kevin Sumlin.

Sumlin’s name has also been mentioned in connection with the Kansas opening.

Earlier this week, both Sumlin and athletic director Mack Rhoades were quoted as saying that a contract extension was nearly complete, with, basically, only the legalese left to iron out.

In addition to Sumlin, Central Michigan’s Butch Jones, East Carolina’s Skip Holtz, Boise State’s Chris Peterson and Temple’s Al Golden, among others, have been mentioned as potentially drawing the Bearcats’ interest.
