Boise looking to extend Peterson

Following Boise State’s last BcS bowl game, Boise State extended the contract of head coach Chris Peterson.

Two years later, and with just two years left on their coach’s contract, the school is looking to extend Peterson again.

According to the Idaho Statesman, talks between Peterson and athletic director Gene Bleymaier on a new deal have commenced.

We’re in discussions with Pete, definitely,” Bleymaier said. “We would like coach Pete to stay at Boise State and we would like to extend his contract.”

I’m extremely curious to see what he does. BSU was successful with both Hawkins and Petersen. Hawkins moved to a BCS school that had minimal promis. Petersen has outplayed Hawkins, and he is still at a non-BCS school. I honestly think any program in the nation would give him a chance to coach if they have a vacancy.

    Sean,
Dont’ forget Dirk Koetter. He left Boise to go to AZ St. He wishes he never wold have left. Now he can’t get a sniff for a head job except at a place like UNLV. I’d rather be the OC of the Jax Jaguars.
