After supposedly being “snubbed” by Butch Jones, who was officially introduced as Cincinnati’s head coach this evening, Marshall has quickly moved on from the man at the top of their wish list and have, apparently, found an attractive alternative.
According to both the Charleston Gazette and the Charleston Daily Mail, the Herd is poised to name Doc Holliday as their next head coach.
Holliday, who is currently rival West Virginia’s associate head coach, could be announced as the new coach as early as tomorrow.
The Daily Mail reports that Holliday will likely sign a five-year deal worth $650,000 annually as early as tonight.
Reportedly, Holliday was recruiting in Florida for the Mountaineers, but abruptly left earlier today to meet with athletic director Mike Hamrick.
