Ex-Irish assistant in running for Buffalo job

One member of former head coach Charlie’s Weis‘ Notre Dame staff has already earned himself a head-coaching job at a MAC school — Rob Ianello at Akron

According to the Chicago Tribune, he might not be the last.

Citing a source close to Corwin Brown, the Tribune reports that the former Irish defensive coordinator interviewed today for the Buffalo vacancy.

Brown was Weis’ coordinator in 2007 and 2008, then was named co-coordinator in 2009 after having his play-calling duties were stripped and handed over to Jon Tenuta.

As we noted earlier, a pair of Florida Gator assistants — quarterbacks coach Scott Loeffler and cornerbacks coach Vance Bedford — are also thought to be in the running for the Bulls job.
