While UCLA suffered some bad news on the eligibility front earlier this evening, the injury front has been a little more kind to the Bruins today.
Starting quarterback Kevin Prince has been fighting through a shoulder issue for the past couple of weeks, and there was some concern even last week that he wouldn’t be able to go for the Bruins’ EagleBank Bowl appearance against Temple.
However, based on Prince’s words this afternoon, it’s looking more and more likely that the Bruins will have the redshirt freshman under center for their bowl game.
“I’m feeling well enough that if we had to play tomorrow, I think I could pull it off,” Prince said according to the Los Angeles Times. “There is still some discomfort, but nothing I can’t play through. It’s gotten to the point where I can make almost every throw without it bothering me too much.”
Perhaps the best news for the Bruins is that the game is still more than a week away, giving Prince even more of an opportunity to get healthy and prepared for the Owls.
