Ducks lose wideout to academic issues

‘Tis the season for not only the holiday spirit, but for academic eligibility as well.  Or, in yet another instance, ineligibility.

Oregon is the latest program to lose a player to academics ahead of their bowl game as backup wide receiver Jamere Holland has been declared ineligible for the Rose Bowl.

According to a press release, the junior started the first two games of the year before coming off the bench in eight others, sharing honors as fifth on the team in receiving with 13 catches for 199 yards and two touchdowns. Holland also ran the ball three times for 41 more yards.

The Eugene Register-Guard reports that Holland has struggled with academics throughout his time in college football and may not be a part of the Ducks next season given those struggles.

Why haven’t you done a story on the BYU game last night? It’s not noteworthy?
