A public intoxication charge cost West Virginia defensive lineman Scooter Berry a couple of games via a suspension during the middle of the 2009 season.
Now, issues in the classroom will cost both Berry and a teammate a bowl game appearance.
According to a press release issued by the school, Berry and safety Nate Sowers have been declared academically ineligible for the Mountaineers’ Gator Bowl match-up with Florida State.
The release stated head coach Bill Stewart would have no further comment on the issue.
