Statistics alone — 5,589 yards passing and 63 touchdowns this season — would make Dylan Favre an intriguing recruit.
Add the fact that, yes, the Mississippi high school quarterback is the nephew of Brett Favre, and there’s a layer or eight of intrigue added to his on-the-field performance.
Even giving his stats and famous last name, however, schools aren’t exactly beating down the door for his services. He’s received just one Div. 1-A scholarship offer thus far — from home state Southern Miss, which also happens to be his uncle’s alma mater.
He’s also scheduled to take official visits next month to not only Southern Miss, but Wisconsin and Oklahoma State as well.
Unless he changes his mind, of course.
I think the lack of interest has more to do with the fact that Favre 2.0 is only listed at 5’10 180 lbs than anything else. Or it could be the hideously dangerous looking caterpillars masquerading as his eyebrows.
And add the fact that the NFL has been there – done that with the Farve family. Kind of like Jeb Bush for president. Some things just ain’t gonna happen.
Let’s leave it at “Trick me once, shame on you.”
The height and weight thing may be true, even though he still has around 6-7 years of growth left. Brett Favre is one of the most legendary QBs to EVER play the game, I can’t imagine colleges acting on behalf of the NFL saying that they don’t want the “drama”? There is plenty of time left for scholarship offers, just let it ride.
Agreed, this kid could be the one who grows up inside this supposed TROGAN H/S horse….and hits the big time runnning and throwing with his uncle watching, and claping for him and saying “I” told U so….
From his present stats, it looks like this kid has some of his uncles genes, and “HIS” arm to match….
WHO CARES
Wait till you get a look at Favre’s great grandson. He’s tearing up Pop Warner this year.
According to some recruiting sites, some schools havepassed on him due to possible character issues.
I heard Dylan’s retiring after HS.
