When Rob Gronkowski‘s season officially ended because of a back injury, it was widely assumed that the tight end would leave Arizona early and make himself available for the 2010 NFL draft.
As it turns out, that assumption could be wrong.
Speaking to the Arizona Daily Star, Gronkowski said there’s a “50-50″ chance he returns. Or that he leaves. However you want to look at it.
“Sometime after the bowl game,” he said when asked if he has a timeline for a decision, “I’ll know a lot more.”
Should Gronkowski decide to leave the Wildcats early, there’s a fairly decent chance that he could be the No. 2 rated TE entering the draft — pending a thorough evaluation of his back — behind fellow junior Jermaine Gresham of Oklahoma, who’s already declared his intentions of heading to the NFL.
