As expected, injured Florida linebacker A.J. Jones will not be healthy enough to play in the Sugar Bowl against Cincinnati.
Jones suffered an MCL issue -- one report has it torn, another sprained -- against Florida International on Nov. 21. The injury forced him out of the regular-season finale against Florida State, as well as the SEC Championship game loss to Alabama.
While the coaching staff did not confirm Jones would be unavailable, safety Ahmad Black told the assembled media that the junior LB would indeed miss his third straight game.
Jones will likely remain replaced in the starting lineup by Brandon Hicks.
