'10 season might already be over for Canes' RB

When Graig Cooper went down during Miami’s Champs Sports Bowl loss to Wisconsin Tuesday night, it looked as if the running back sustained a fairly significant injury.

What no one knew was just how significant the injury would turn out to be.

According to a person briefed on the initial diagnosis, the Associated Press is reporting that the injury to Cooper’s knee is so severe that he could miss the entire 2010 season.  No specific details of the damage have been revealed, but it would be safe to assume that an ACL, at the very least, would be involved.

Cooper, who incurred the injury late in the first half of the loss, had been considering leaving the Hurricanes early for the NFL after leading UM in rushing with 695 yards.

Needless to say, those plans have all but been thrown out the window.

that sucks. Cooper has real potential. Hopefully, he realizes that other great Canes backs have come back from knee injuries. Hopefully, Willis McGahee can help him through. Edge has gone through it too.
