As expected, Cal running back Jahvid Best announced this evening that he will leave school a year early and make himself available for the 2010 NFL draft.
Best made the announcement during a conference call with the media this evening.
“Frankly I kept praying about it. It was kind of a feeling, a gut feeling, that’s how I make my decision,” Best said. “I feel like I’m ready to play in the NFL and I can be successful.
“It’s always been a dream of mine. I’ve always had my eye set on making it to the NFL. That’s always been my goal. When I saw myself having success (at Cal), I knew it was becoming a tangible goal.”
Best missed the final four games of the 2009 season with head and back injuries suffered during a November game, but still rushed for 867 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also added four TD receptions for good measure.
UPDATE 7:47 p.m. ET: Cal has issued a press release on best’s decision, but it’s way too long to throw in here. So, click right HERE if you have any interest. Or even you don’t. It’s all about the page views.
A lot of these college players and coaches are really starting to feel it in their guts.
He’s a good back but in a very bad weak pac-10 conference, probably the best back in the pac-10 anyway compared to the other pac-10 backs, and if you know collin cowheard let him know how bad his awful hot pac-10 was this bowl season. 2 winners and 5 losers. Pac-10 football what a freaking joke.
By the way, Jahvid good luck to you in the NFL, not trying to beat you down just the conference, you are a very good back. Again BEST of luck to you.
This guy is a versatile freak of nature. I hope he falls to the Pats and they pick him up. PLEASE!
Frankly I kept praying about it.

Have something bad to add but I am trying not to post anything negative this year. Hard to pass that one up.
“2 winners and 5 losers. Pac-10 football what a freaking joke.”
