Last year around this time, it was looking as if safety Reshad Jones would bolt Georgia for NFL riches. In the end, he remained in Athens for another season.
This time around, there is no waffling. Per Joe Schad of ESPN.com, Jones will make himself available for the draft. Jones also confirmed his decision to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“I feel like I’ve done everything I can do at Georgia,” Jones told Schad. “I’m physically and mentally ready. I bring passion to the game and also versatility, because I can play both free and strong safety.”
Jones and teammate linebacker Rennie Curran will conduct a teleconference today, Schad reports, with the latter likely joining the former in announcing his intentions to jump to the NFL a year early.
It’s been widely expected that both would leave a year of eligibility on the table. That expectation should come to fruition at some point this afternoon.

Jones will be 3rd or 4th round. There is tons of tape from the last two years of GA getting beat deep over and over and I am sure Jones was at fault many times. He is pretty physical so I see him as a strong safety that can run but maybe as a physical FS. Curran will be 4th or 5th round. Too short and not physical enough to be an everydown backer in the NFL. Should be a great special teams and nickle linebacker for years though.
