One Gator twin leaving, another staying

For the first time in a very long time, if ever, Maurkice Pouncey and his twin brother Mike will not be on the same football field come the fall.

According to the Gainesville Sun, center Maurkice Pouncey has decided to leave Florida a year early and make himself available for the 2010 NFL draft.

Guard Mike Pouncey, after giving serious consideration to leaving early, has decided to stay in Gainesville for another season.  The lineman had said late last year that he wouldn’t leave school early unless he received a first- or second-round grade from the NFL’s draft advisory board.

Maurkice Pouncey is the third Gator to leave early this year, joining teammates Joe Haden and Aaron Hernandez.
