Cretin-Derham's Henderson to decide on Feb. 3

6-foot-8, 338-pound Cretin Derham-Hall senior offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson is the nation’s top recruit and has been at the top of the 2010 class since his sophomore year, according to Tom Lemming.

And Henderson won’t waste any time to decide where he’ll play college football.  Fresh off a Class 5A state championship win, Henderson says he will make his intentions known on February 3 — day one of the national signing period.

Henderson made official visits to Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida, Southern California (likely now a long shot after Pete Carroll left), and Oklahoma.  He has also not ruled out Miami of Florida, Iowa, or Minnesota.

“All eight schools are neck and neck,” Henderson’s father insisted to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Seantrel, however, is not yet academically eligible.  His best score on the ACT so far is 17, and he needs a 19 to qualify for college.  He will take the test again on February 6.

Hmm, top recruit offensive tackle who can’t pass the ACT?
Next you’ll tell me the top recruit defensive lineman can only bench press 4 reps…

Well, I guess it won’t be Notre Dame then, since, you know, their academics standards are soooo restrictive.

Actually, it DOES mean he won’t sign at Notre Dame. Because they DO have tougher standards than the other schools. Which is why, unlike the SEC, the Big 12, and the Pac 10, they DON’T have players that embarrass themselves or their schools.
