Pitt receiver Baldwin cleared of groping charge

Pittsburgh wide receiver Jonathan Baldwin was cleared Tuesday of groping charges in connection with his arrest last May.  

At the time of the incident, Baldwin was accused of misdemeanor indecent assault and disorderly conduct after allegedly “smacking (a female student’s) buttocks” on a shuttle bus.  He was disciplined by the school, but the details of Baldwin’s punishment were never revealed and coach Dave Waanstedt offered no comment on the matter.

Baldwin went on to start all 13 games for the Panthers, leading the team with 57 receptions for 1,111 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging a whopping 19.5 yards per catch.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound do-it-all wideout is a rising third-year junior and figures to be a top prospect for the 2011 NFL Draft.
