Less than a month after not being retained by new head coach Skip Holtz, former South Florida offensive coordinator Mike Canales has found a new home.
Needless to say, though, it’s a definite step down from the Bulls.
According to the Denton Record-Chronicle, Canales has been hired as the new coordinator at North Texas.
Mean Green head coach Todd Dodge made the announcement official earlier today.
Canales was USF’s coordinator from 1996 through 2000, then returned to the school after a six-year hiatus in 2007.
