Stanford hires former Ravens coach

Last year, Vic Fangio was an assistant coach on John Harbaugh‘s Baltimore Ravens coaching staff.

In 2010, he’ll still be on a Harbaugh-led staff, albeit at a different location.  And at a whole other level of football.

According to Tom Dienhart of Rivals.com, Fangio has been hired by Jim Harbaugh to be Stanford’s defensive coordinator.

Fangio has spent the last four seasons with the Ravens organization, and has been an NFL coordinator during stops at the Houston Texans (2002-2005), Indianapolis Colts (2001-2003) and Carolina Panthers (1995-1998).

The Fangio hiring comes on the heels of Harbaugh adding Willie Martinez, the former Georgia coordinator who will coach the Cardinal’s defensive backs.
