Another surprise pulled by LSU

What started as a sorta blah National Signing Day for LSU fans has somewhat surprisingly turned into a boon for the Bayou Bengals.

Les Miles has already pulled a commitment from defensive end J.C. Copeland, who appeared very likely to be headed to Tennessee. But, as it turns out, he wasn’t finished with the Copeland flip.

Now, according to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, wide receiver Kadron Boone has signed with the Tigers as well.

The four-star receiver committed to Texas Tech in August but reopened his recruiting following the dismissal of Red Raiders head coach Mike Leach.

“They did a great job,” Trinity Catholic coach John Brantley said of Tech’s staff. “He had built up a great relationship with coach Leach. It’s not that he lost interest, but (Tech’s passing offense) is what caught his attention. That’s what got him interested in Texas Tech to begin with. Once that happened, he put his thought processes elsewhere.”

Boone visited Baton Rouge this past weekend, which apparently sealed the deal for Miles & Company.
