Huskers grab Cooper and Carnes

Nebraska Cornhuskers fans should be happy with the Signing Day success that head coach Bo Pelini and his staff had. Nebraska got two big pledges today from quarterback Brion Carnes and safety Corey Cooper.

Carnes is a Florida native that’s got a direct connection to Nebraska greatness, as he’s a cousin of former quarterback Tommie Frazier. Carnes had offers from Cincinnati, Clemson, Georgia, Louisville, and USF, and was rumored to have committed to Western Kentucky before signing with Nebraska.

Cooper had offers to play across the country, and the Illinois native chose Nebraska over Florida State, Notre Dame, and Illinois. He’s a physical presence and elite athlete that should fit right into Pelini’s Blackshirt defense.

Nebraska is expected to have a Top 25 recruiting class.
