I don’t plan on spelling his name too many more times, but Owamagbe Odighizuwa made a long-winded announcement on ESPN, high-jacking the national spotlight for a few minutes to thank just about every person he’d ever met and remind everyone that this decision really does stress high school kids out.
Odighizuwa chose UCLA, giving head coach Rick Neuheisel another big recruiting score on a day where the Bruins made some impressive forward progress toward closing the gap on USC.
Owa’s other finalists were Nebraska and Oregon State. The Portland native is the highest rated recruit on the board that was left for UCLA, and projects as the 8th best player in the country by Rivals.
This will be the last we ever hear of this guy…Unless there’s a burger-flipper of the year award given out to McDonald’s employees in the UCLA neighborhood…then he might get his name uttered on the news at some point. Otherwise? Doubtful…
