Just about two weeks ago, Texas A&M finished off their month-long search for a defensive coordinator by naming Tim DeRuyter as the replacement for Joe Kines, who retired from coaching in December.
According to Tom Dienhart of Rivals.com, Mike Sherman may be set to commence yet another coordinator search.
A&M offensive coordinator Nolan Cromwell, Dienhart reports, will interview for an assistant coaching job with the St. Louis Rams on Monday. What position on the staff that will be is not known.
Cromwell has spent the past two seasons in College Station after previously spending his entire coaching career (1991-2007) at the NFL level.
Cromwell also has ties to the Rams organization as a player, although that’s when the club was based in Los Angeles. The 55-year-old coach was an All-American quarterback at Kansas his final two seasons in Lawrence before moving to the secondary upon entering the NFL.
