Henderson told high school coach it was Miami

As JT mentioned earlier, the Seantrel Henderson derby isn’t over. While Henderson chose USC on Signing Day, he’s still very much in play. And while Ohio State fans are hoping for the ax to fall on the Trojan program, they’ve been replaced by Miami as the No. 2 school in line for the left tackle’s services.

Here’s what I wrote about it over at the Inside the Irish blog:

Henderson’s final decision didn’t come down to Ohio State and USC likemany reported, but Miami and the Trojans. Henderson was absolutelysmitten with the Hurricanes after a weekend in South Beach hanging withhis idol Bryant McKinnie, and other Miami alums like Willis McGahee andEd Reed. The decision was so close that when Henderson texted his highschool basketball coach just minutes before he made his decision on-airwith Tom Lemming on CBS College Sports TV, he sent back only one word:"MIAMI.”

There are a lot of voices in Henderson’s ear, including a father that clearly has his own agenda as well. Whatever college ends up with Henderson will be getting an elite player, but also one that might come with a few strings attached.
