Bowden, FSU officially stripped of wins

Even over a month after stepping down as Florida State’s head coach, Bobby Bowden is still losing games.  Or, more specifically, losing games he’s already won.

According to the Associated Press, the Seminoles have officially been stripped of 12 football wins from the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

The NCAA sanctions stem from an academic fraud case, and cost both the coach and the football program five wins from 2006 and seven from 2007.

The sanctions leave Bowden with a total of 377 wins over his legendary career.

They can take away his wins, they can take away his job, they can even take away his life. But they can never take away his Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.

    What’s your point?

    This just in:
Following an emergency meeting, the NCAA has voted that in addition to the 12 wins previously noted, Bobby Bowden will also be required to forfeit his lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Wow, didn’t realize I accidentally skipped over to acceptchristassaviororgotohell.com Anyway, to the point of this article, as a Gator fan, coach Bowden will always have 389 wins in my eyes. Ridiculous to punish a coach who had nothing to do with this and played players to the best of his knowledge were eligible, while the school, which is at fault, gets nary a slap on the wrist.

Spoken like a true Gator. If you didnt KNOW it was cheating its OK.

xacvol, read my post again. It was cheating. Cheating by the athletes, the teacher assistant, and the administrator. Not cheating by coach Bowden. So the school, which is responsible for the cheating faces no real consequences, coach Bowden and the other coaches are stipped of wins. Is Duke going to get that victory for the vacated win? I think not. This solves nothing and does not discourage FSU, or any other school for that matter, from doing it (again).

Don’t be silly. You can’t give the Team Loss and the Coach a win.
