Last Friday, Miami lost a running backs coach to the NFL as Tommie Robinson took the same position with the Arizona Cardinals.
On Monday, Randy Shannon found Robinson’s replacement.
According to the Miami Herald, the head coach has hired Florida International RB coach Mike Cassano for the same job with the Hurricanes.
There’s a familiarity with Cassano, at least on the part of offensive coordinator Mark Whipple. Cassano was on Whipple’s staff when the coordinator was the head coach at Div. 1-AA UMass.
