Willy Korn announced his plans to transfer to Marshall, ending a career at Clemson that started with great hope and instead was marred by injuries and bad timing.
Thanks to a recent NCAA rule change, Korn will be able to transfer without penalty to another Division I school and have immediate eligibility, thanks to Korn’s graduation from Clemson in three-and-a-half years. He’ll enroll in graduate school classes, where he’ll study in the school of journalism, hoping to train for a career in sports broadcasting.
“I’ve always said I was going to take Kirk Herbstreit’s job someday, so I think that program will be pretty applicable,” Korn told the Charleston Gazette.
Korn is a great late recruiting pick-up by new Marshall coach Doc Holliday, the former Florida assistant. The one-time blue-chip recruit will battle with Mark Cann and Brian Anderson, both of whom have started games for the Herd at quarterback.
