Gator recruit: ‘I know we’ll have 2-3' titles

Until a signing-day surge by Southern Cal, Florida’s 2010 recruiting class was widely hailed as the best in the country. In fact, it was being argued that it was the most talented class -- on paper -- in the history of the game.

Even given the Trojans’ surge, most of the major recruiting services -- with the exception of Rivals.com -- gave the nod to the Gator group.

It remains to be seen how the paper champions will perform on the field. If you ask one member of the class, however, you should expect great things -- and a lot of bling -- if you’re a member of Gator Nation.

Speaking to the Orlando Sentinel, defensive end Lynden Trail went Nostradamus (Nostradumbass?) when asked what he sees in the future for his class.

I know we’ll bring at least 2-3 national championships,” Trail said.

“I just feel like we have so much special talent at every position. And we’re all going to make sure to work hard. This group is determined to make a difference.”

Ah, the hubris of youth.

Given the emergence of Alabama as the dominant program in the nation -- at least for the time being -- Mr. Trail might want to focus on winning the SEC before setting the bar for his class at BcS crystal.
