Gators chasing Clemson assistant?

Just three weeks ago, Clemson — and their checkbookhad to fend off an SEC team in order to keep defensive coordinator Kevin Steele.

The same scenario seems to be playing itself out yet again, albeit with a different SEC school and a different member of Dabo Swinney‘s Tiger staff.

According to a tweet from Tom Dienhart of Rivals.com, Florida has an interest in Clemson co-defensive coordinator Charlie Harbison for its coordinator vacancy.

Harbison is the latest name to be attached to the opening created last week when George Edwards left Gainesville for the Buffalo Bills.  Edwards had been at the school for less than a month before bolting for the NFL.

This is the 7th coaches name associated with this opportunity over the last 5 weeks. Every single one of them has been a minority. Why don’t they just post “for minorities only”. Sad commentary on how simplisitc this program is when it comes to staffing. Now they are down to guys who are asst. coordinators or who once went to a college game.
