Earlier today, the Tuscaloosa News reported that Alabama defensive back Robby Green has been suspended through the end of spring practice, if not longer.
Based on those reports, head coach Nick Saban has released a statement that states, basically, the reports have jumped the gun on any discipline that Green may be facing.
“There is a situation with Robby,” Saban said, “and we are currently in the process of determining the facts. To make any kind of announcement on his playing status at this time is completely premature and it is not appropriate to do so until we have a chance to go through due process for Robby and his family. If there is a change in his current status, we will make an announcement once a final determination is made.”
The reports had Green suspended for violating unspecified team and NCAA rules.
