Duck receiver gets the boot after Facebook blast

The tumult that is the Oregon football program continued this afternoon as wide receiver Jamere Holland has been dismissed from the football program.

And he’s not even one of the five UO players who have been arrested in the past three weeks.

According to The Oregonian, Holland was given the boot for violating unspecified team rules.  Although the school is not commenting on why Holland was dismissed, SportsByBrooks.com has likely dug up the answer.

The website posted a screen snap from Holland’s Facebook page in which the receiver took the program to task for apparently kicking linebacker Kiko Alonso — who was arrested for DUI early Saturday morning — off the team.

“how the f– you kick kinko off the team,,, on some weak sh-, niggas always faded he slipped up but ive been slippn up, and I’m still here, that sh- weak buff cuh could have done damage for the ducks, that sh- is weak, weak ass f–, quote me.”

First of all, you simply can’t call out your head coach and his program, which Holland has learned the hard way.

Secondly, if you are going to publicly call out your coach, could people at least be somewhat grammatically correct?  I understand it’s bad form to call out someone’s grammar on the Internet, but damn dude.  Mix in a shift key and spell-check every other sentence or so.

Anyway, and right or wrong, head coach Chip Kelly appears to be the leader of a program on the verge of being out of control.  And that might be an understatement.

Whether or not the program is indeed out of control is not the issue.  The perception is that it is, and that’s a helluva mountain to have to climb to get back the school’s tattered and battered image.

Damn shame Nike money couldn’t cover up all this, these dumb players need to realize all they have to do is not get caught red-handed being idiots – just give Phil enough time to pay the right people. I’m almost surprised these idiots don’t realize that. Coach Kelly’s policy is just like Coach Meyer’s: Don’t tie my hands, I have an appearance to keep up!

Coach Kelly showing what is really important by kicking a non-starter, non-playing, non-contributing, non-impact redshirt freshman and a non-playing WR off the team, but his starters that run afoul of the law are still on the team.
At least he is not trying to hide what is important and everyone knows where they stand.
Reserves, you are all on notice.
Starters, just show up to practice, please.

Do they teach english at Oregon?
I remember hearing all this talk about how Oregon is an elite program before they got pimp slapped by Ohio State, well I guess we can stop all of that now.

Don’t worry – they’ll all be re-instated back on the team prior to the start of the season. I mean come on, if you can cheap shot punched somebody and threaten the people in the stands, get kicked off the team for the season and get re-instated that same season… do you really think you won’t get back by spring practice for rambling illegibly like a punk thug on facebook. I guess in Oregon, the only way to really get kicked off the team and never play again is to shank somebody and receive a sentence longer than your scholarship!

There sure is a lot of talk on this message board. I’m sure no one here has had to decide what to do with guys who mess up.
LaGarrette Blount was certainly punished quite a bit. He was never kicked off the team, he was suspended from all games for the rest of the season. When he was finally allowed back for games, he played sparingly. This guy was a power RB, and to not play him had to be a tough decision to stick to. This guy responded to a taunt, which has no place in sports, with violence, which also has no place in sports.
As for LaMicheal James, Oregon is doing the right thing by waiting to get all the fact.s
As for the LB who got kicked off for the DUI, perhaps he had other prior issues. The WR who just mouthed off on facebook was just being a 18 year kid mouthing off on facebook.
As for Jeremiah Mosaui and the other guys at the frat house minutes before laptops went missing: Well, at least it’s not violent crime, and the cops specifically did not charge Mosaui. Whatever. You can’t tell me he had NOTHING to do with the missing laptops. But he is the QB, so there you go.
Lache Seastrunk (sp?) is going to run wild, so Oregon with be OK with or without LaMicheal James.

Idiotic comments by the Oregon player but pretty pathetic that we have web-sites monitoring every college players facebook statuses hoping to find anything and everything to lambast them on

That’s my point – Blount should have been kicked off the team for that thug and extremely classless act! He had no business being anywhere close to the field after that. I don’t care if he was taunted – that is totally unacceptable behavior and by allowing him to practice and eventually return to the team, Kelly set the example for the rest of the team and quite frankly, we’re now starting to see the results of that type of discipline – or lack thereof.
I saw the exact same slide under John Cooper during the last few years of his OSU tenure! The Vest was the perfect coach to bring in at that time and he has that program totally turned around. If Blount would have pulled that crap at OSU – you can bet he’d never see another snap at OSU again!

I actually liked the Oregon program, but a very visible few of the players are acting like morons.
Seastrunk is going to fit right in there.

If he was an English major they’d better skip bashing the football program and shut down the school entirely.
