Stanford loses assistant back to NFL?

Ten days ago, Jim Harbaugh hired former Illinois head coach and Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner to be a part of his Stanford coaching staff.

This morning?  Apparently, Turner really, really missed the NFL.

According to Tom Dienhart of Rivals.com, Turner has left his post as quarterbacks and wide receivers coach to coach the Indianapolis Colts receivers.

Turner’s hiring was officially announced by the school on February 17.

Turner spent the past five seasons as the Bears’ coordinator, and was in charged of the Illini football program from 1997-2004.

You can’t teach an old dog bad tricks…I’m sure Peyton will be fine (unfortunately).
