'11 Irish-Terps game moved to FedEx Field

Back in late January, reports emerged that discussions were taking place involving Notre Dame and Maryland moving their 2011 game to FedEx Field.

Today, those discussions became a reality.

According to both the Baltimore Sun and South Bend Tribune, the two schools have officially agreed to move the ’11 game to the NFL home of the Washington Redskins.

“This is great for our program and our profile,” Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen said in a statement. “This is a game our fans will be really excited about and our players will enjoy.”

“We are pleased to provide our fans a premier national-caliber game so close to our campus,” Maryland athletic director Debbie Yow said. “It will be a statement game for our Terps football program.”

The second meeting ever between the two programs will feature the Irish as the home team in 91,000-seat stadium located in Landover, Md.

FedEx Field will also host the early-season heavyweight match-up between Boise State and Virginia Tech this year.

ND continues to punish their fans by taking home games away because their home fans were throwning all those snow balls at the Cryer team 2 years ago.

ourlady’s money – what the…? No one is jealous of the Cryin Irish. In fact most non-ND fans love to watch them lose and lose and lose and lose every Saturday on the Noter Dame Broadcasting Channel – seeing the Cryers lose week after week its what keeps up the ratings on NBC.
Those hacks they call a football team should be playing in Div II or the MAC.
    Go Navy!
