‘Fistic encounter’ lands LSU WR on wrong end of taser

LSU’s second-leading receiver in 2009 has found himself in a little bit of legal hot water, the Baton Rouge Advocate is reporting.

According to the paper, Terrance Toliver -- along with a LSU basketball player and another male -- was cited early Sunday morning for disturbing the peace by fistic encounter. disturbing the peace by public intoxication and resisting an officer.

The charges stemmed from a fight between Toliver and another male outside of a local watering hole. When approached by police officers, Toliver failed to comply with their orders and was ultimately tased.

“We are in the process of gathering information on this incident,” head coach Les Miles said in a statement. “We are going to investigate it thoroughly to find out the facts and then act accordingly.”

Toliver, who had 53 receptions for 735 yards last season, met with Miles about the incident Sunday, and will meet with him again today at some point.
