Hand broken, Toliver apologizes for bar fight

Just days after his “fistic encounter,” LSU wide receiver Terrance Toliver apologized for his part in a bar fight last weekend, that left him tazered.

“I just want to take this opportunity to apologize for the altercation I had on Saturday,” Toliver said. “It was an embarrassment to the team, to my coaching staff, the players, my family and it was embarrassing to me. That was totally out of my character. It won’t happen again. That was my first time in an altercation like this, and it won’t happen again. I want to tell everybody I’m sorry.”

Toliver spoke to the gathered media with a bandage on his hand, helping to protect a broken bone in his left hand sustained during the fight. While Tigers coach Les Miles said there would be no suspension, he reiterated there’d be a punishment.

“His behavior is not to be tolerated, he’ll pay a tremendous price, and he will practice with that hand,” Miles said. “He will sustain some running and his personal embarrassment will be on going, but Terrance Toliver is a good person. I suspect we’ll get by this.”

Toliver had 53 catches for 735 yards and three touchdowns last year. While it’s not official, that’s reportedly Toliver’s first tazer as well.
