Almost exactly a month to the day that he was suspended, Colorado wide receiver Markques Simas has seen his sanctions lifted, the Boulder Daily Camera is reporting.
Simas was suspended by head coach Dan Hawkins following the junior’s arrest for DUI.
The suspension forced Simas to miss the first three days of spring practice, but Hawkins’ “real generous” gesture to allow him to return had the receiver in a PSA kind of mood when meeting with the press.
“Don’t drink and drive,” Simas said. “That’s plain and simple, man. That’s basically what it is. I made a dumb decision. It will never happen again. I learned from it
“If I’m going to go out, be safe be smart, and, if anything, I’ll pass out wherever I am.”
