Husky DL turns self in on assault charge

Suspended a week ago today for violating unspecified team rules, Washington defensive end Andru Pulu has turned himself in to King County authorities, the Seattle Times is reporting.

Pulu was booked into the county jail on investigation of assault following an incident outside of a party last week.

The sophomore allegedly was involved in a heated argument with another individual when a third person attempted to intervene and calm the situation.

Pulu allegedly grabbed that man by the throat, threw him to the ground, and stomped on his head.  The victim, according to a police report obtained by the Times, ended up with a broken nose and possibly a fractured cheek.

Last season, Pulu played in 12 games for the Huskies, and figured to play a more significant role in UW’s line rotation.
