No fake grass for the Tide

Apparently, there’s a rumor making the Internet rounds that field turf or something of its ilk is slated to be put in place at Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Fear not, real grass ‘Bama fans.  It’s merely an ugly, vicious rumor concocted somewhere across the vast expanse of the web.

Zero chance,” director of athletic facilities Thad Turnipseed* told the Tuscaloosa News said of a change in the Tide’s home turf.  ”It hasn’t even been discussed.”

Sleep better tonight, America.  God bless.

(*: Yes, the main reason I posted on this was so I could type the name “Turnipseed”.)

I love real grass. Football players should be covered with grass stains, dirt, mud, blood.
Did you know the other driver in James Dean’s fatal car crash was a college student named Donald Turnipseed? We rebels without causes know these things.
Wonder if there’s any relation? How many Turnipseeds could there be.
