Hansen remains in charge of Buffs' offense

In what could be his final year at Colorado, head coach Dan Hawkins‘ job could very well be in the hands of Tyler Hansen.

Hansen took over the starting job from Cody Hawkins — the coach’s son — in the middle of 2009 season, and appears to have solidified his grip on the position through the first few spring practice sessions.

Even as the defense is “cheating” and getting over on the offense thus far this spring, Hansen seems pleased with his progression as “The Man”.

It`s going real good,” Hansen said according to the Boulder Daily Camera. “We`re starting to get in sync with the receivers and get a good connection going. The passing game has really flourished the last couple days.”

Hansen, who’s thrown just one pick this spring according to the Daily Camera, will lead the offense in a scrimmage this afternoon.  After that, the Buffs will take a ten-day break before returning for the final eight sessions and the April 10 spring game.
