Following his arrest over the weekend for drunk driving, Bobby “T-Bob” Hebert was expected to meet with head coach Les Miles Monday morning to discuss the arrest.
The meeting occurred, and the outcome wasn’t exactly favorable to the LSU starting lineman.
According to the Associated Press, Hebert, the son of former NFL quarterback Bobby Hebert, has been indefinitely suspended by Miles.
Miles said that Hebert will be banned from any football-related activities until certain obligations have been fulfilled.
Last season, Hebert started every game at center for the Tigers, with the exception of their bowl game.
And he’ll start every game this year. Don’t fool yourselves. “Indefinitely Suspended” in college football means “till the start of summer camp” I love NCAA Football.
The concept of suspending a player “until obligations have been met” is valid for some concepts. Academic performance, overall attitude, even failed drug tests. But in this case, is the obligation that he go the rest of the summer without a DUI? Is Big Ben’s obligation that he can show he’s capable of going without raping somebody for a set time span?
