Thanks to a new multi-year TV deal with ESPN, the Insight Bowl has officially leapfrogged a two other games in the Big 12’s bowl lineup, the Omaha World-Herald is reporting.
The game had previously been stuck with given the sixth team in the conference. Now, thanks to the aforementioned deal, the 21-year-old Insight (nee Copper) Bowl will get the No. 3 team from the Big 12.
The bowl gets it pick of teams after the Cotton and Alamo Bowls.
The game also features either the third or fourth team from the Big Ten.
