Early Rimington Watch List released

A: When there’s a post about an award devoted solely to centers.Q: How can you really tell when you’re in the seriously dead portion of the college football news cycle?

(No offense, massively huge interior linemen who could snap me in half with just two fingers and minimal leverage.)

Handed out annually since 2000, the Rimington Trophy committee has released its 2010 Spring Watch List, the organization announced on its official website.

Named in honor of former Nebraska great Dave Rimington, the award is given to the nation’s top collegiate center.

This year’s list includes 37 individuals from the Div. 1-A level, with the ACC leading the way with six players named, followed by the Pac-10 and Big 12 with five apiece.

The first recipient of the award was, appropriately enough, Nebraska’s Dominic Raiola; last year’s winner was Florida’s Maurkice Pouncey.

Here’s the full list of this year’s early-watch players:

O’Dowd to bounce back and make up for last years horrible season? If he doesn’t he’ll have cost himself millions with his plummeting draft stock.

This list of course is in no way related to the Early Rimming Watch, which is a completely different thing altogether.
