Three arrested Bruins released from UCLA LOIs

Three members of UCLA’s 2010 recruiting arrested last month have now been released from their Letters of Intent and are free to move about the country, the Los Angeles Times is reporting.

Paul Richardson, Shaquille Richardson and Joshua Shirley were charged on June 23 with felony theft after allegedly stealing a woman’s purse.

At the time of their quasi-dismissal from the program, head coach Rick Neuheisel left the door open for the trio to return to the school for the winter quarter. While that’s still a possibility, the LOI release means they are free to re-open their recruitment and sign with any school they so choose.

All three would also be eligible to play immediately.

Shirley (LB) and Paul Richardson (WR) were four-star recruits, while Shaquille Richardson (DB) was a three-star.
