The week of arrests continues this afternoon with word that yet another player from the state of Oklahoma allegedly got a little — or a lot — tipsy and got behind the wheel of a motorized vehicle.
This time, though, it’s the Sooners dealing with an off-field incident as OkBlitz.com is reporting that running back Mossis Madu was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with driving under the influence.
According to the affidavit of his arrest, Madu was observed going left of center twice by a university police officer and pulled over. The officer noted in his statement that Madu “had red and watery eyes, slurred speech, poor balance, and an odor of alcoholic beverage consumption on his breath and person.”
The latter was proven very much correct as a pair of breath tests pinned the meter at .19 each time. The ensuing arrest occurred at 3:10 a.m. CT.
Madu, a senior, rushed for just 17 yards in 2009, but his 475 yards and six touchdowns in 2008 were both good for third on the team.
You know what they say, ‘Rolling stoned gathers no Mossis.’
